We currently have vacancies within our Operations Support department for Hydrolicer Technicians. These exciting roles form part of our Integrated Pest Management Strategy. These full time, camp-based positions involve working throughout all areas of the Saltwater department with the Hydrolicer unit which is on a workboat/barge. The role is focused on operating and maintaining equipment that form part of our treatment suite. Applications from candidates who have some experience in Salt Water operations, with crane and capstan experience is preferred, however this is not essential as full training and support will be provided. Deckhand experience is an asset.

Requirements:
• Grade 12 plus 3+ years’ experience in salmon farming or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Post-secondary aquaculture certificate or diploma preferred.
• Demonstrated skills and experience in providing leadership to a team of staff and supporting all aspects of personnel management.
• Good critical thinking abilities, decision-making abilities and sound judgment.
• Highly organized, practical and self-motivated with good communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills (i.e. approachable, empathetic) including the ability to develop effective relationships and successfully resolve conflict situations.
• Basic computer skills (e.g. Aqua Farmer, word processing & spreadsheets).
• Highly motivated, positive outlook and positive attitude towards work.
• Basic knowledge of pumps, generators, hydraulics and power systems.
The chosen applicants will be practical, self-motivated individuals with good communication skills. They should be flexible and willing to travel to any of our Salt Water sites.
