Cermaq Canada is seeking to fill a new permanent full-time Purchaser to our Campbell River Warehouse office.
As a Purchaser you will report directly to the Senior Purchaser.
Your responsibilities would primarily consist of working with the purchasing team, internal customers and external vendors.
Key Accountabilities:
• Responsible for selecting vendors and/or products based on price and quality, including negotiating, and/or improving payment terms.
• Working with external vendors, to obtain quotations for all purchases with the best quality and service, while being diligent in balancing those decisions with the company’s health and safety policies.
• Clerical and administration duties and projects for the purchasing department.
• Ensuring internal procedures are followed and seeking approval from managers.
• Creating and issuing purchase orders.
• Critical and creative problem solving skills for sourcing products and vendors.
• Following and ensuring ETAs from vendors.
• Superb communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills, including experience with MS Word and Excel.

• Preference will be given to candidates with previous purchasing experience.
• A professional, positive and friendly presence that contributes to building collaborative relationships with co-workers, visitors, vendors and the general public.
• Strong organizational, time-management and interpersonal communication skills.
• A valid BC Driver’s License
