Cermaq Canada is currently looking to fill a permanent full-time Repair and Maintenance Technician role for our Saltwater operations. This position works off of the coast of Port McNeill, BC. There is company provided bus and boat transportation. As a Repair and Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for maintaining all physical assets of Cermaq Canada, including generators, compressors, buildings, small engines and a variety of other equipment. You’ll get the chance to work with and live with a group of hardworking, dedicated employees. Position Details:
Status: Permanent, full-time position
Shift: This is a camp-based position with 8 days on, 6 days off; 10 hours per day for a total of 80 hours every two weeks

Duties:
Providing support to our sea site operations through Repair and maintenance operations to ensure our operations continue to run smoothly while growing our fish from smolt entry through to harvest.
Conducting routine maintenance to equipment in order to eliminate down time due to equipment failure.
Repairing equipment in a priority sequence while being conscious of time restraints to minimize down time.
Maintaining accurate maintenance logs and record keeping of inventories and daily work completed.
Maintaining a clean, safe, and bio-secure site by performing simple maintenance and keeping a clean work site at all times.
Operating heavy machinery such as forklifts and boats.
Qualifications & Experience:
You have previous education or work experience in repair and maintenance, working on generators, compressors and small engines with some basic plumbing as well.
Boat Maintenance experience and work experience in a marine environment are an asset.
Hands-on general building maintenance, including basic plumbing and 12/24 volt DC wiring systems.
PCOC, SVOP, ROC-M confined space training and computer skills (MS Word/Excel) are an asset.

You are physically fit, enjoy being outside, are willing to work in all types of weather conditions, and are comfortable being on the water.

This position is camp-based, transportation to Port McNeill is provided from Courtenay and Campbell River.
