Who are we?
The Campbell River Literacy Association is a local non-profit, which offers an array of programs in support of the learning of adults, families and children. Our offices and core Adult Literacy Program is located at Robron Centre, and our association provides a number of programs in the Campbell River community.
Position to be filled: Part Time Program Support Worker
We are currently seeking a dynamic individual to co-facilitate a number of our community programs with another staff member. This position falls under the management of the Executive Director.
Program(s): Family Literacy: Working with other community organizations to offer programs such as:
•Afterschool Culinary Program: Working with youth (11 – 16) around developing basic culinary skills
•Mom’s Group: Evening dinner program which invites mom’s to bring their children and enjoy a family meal. Topics to be discussed throughout the evening
Details of position:
•This position is offered on a contract basis that coincides with the School District program year (September –June) Starting wage is $18.50/hour with weekly hours totalling 15 hrs/week based on program delivery with 2 early evenings per week required.
•As you will work inside a SD 72 building, current criminal record check with vulnerable sectors will be required
•Applicants with past experience or keen interest in working with at risk families are encouraged to apply
•Position will remain open until filled

This part time position is very suited to an individual with an educational, essential skills for adults, child care or recreation background. The successful applicant will work alongside a senior staff member, training and planning time will be provided. The above mentioned programs are new launches for our organization and as part of the program delivery team you will have an opportunity to have meaningful input into how these programs will be implemented.
