Details:
The Program Director is responsible for the development, planning, implementation and evaluation of programs that respond to the needs of the Sacred Wolf Friendship Centre Society clientele.
The Program Director is responsible for ensuring that the programs operate in a successful manner and that there is adherence to the accepted standards of service.
The Program Director will be responsible for writing and submitting various proposals and applying for grant opportunities to allow for program enhancement initiatives. Participation in coordinating monthly events will be a must.
This candidate must possess strong team-oriented values, and commit to serving the membership needs as a means to bridge the gaps in service. Knowledge of the Social Service field is a requirement.
The Program Director will work with the Executive Director s/he will attend Board meetings and offer up-dates as needed.
S/he will also take on responsibilities in the absence of the Executive Director with the possibility of public speaking, or giving presentations.
DUTIES:
Reports to SWFC Executive Director
Network with community-based service groups, Federal and Provincial agencies, Funding organizations, individuals of interest and general membership of the Society
Prepare monthly statistics and reports for the Executive Director
Must have strong proposal writing skills. Prepare, follow up on and conduct research for funding opportunities on a regular basis. Will take recommendations as per the Executive Director
Will be involved with community meetings and monthly cultural functions or activities
Conduct fundraising initiatives where necessary
Qualifications & Experience:
Ability to multi-task, meeting deadlines and work well under pressure
Ability to keep accurate records in both written and electronic forms
Must be reliable, punctual and friendly
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Strong abilities to work with Microsoft Office programs: Excel, Outlook, Word etc.
Awareness or practice with Aboriginal culture and support services
Valid BC Drives License and own transportation
