FRONT DESK ASSOCIATE
Providence Place Inn is a growing family that is looking for someone to work part-time for our front desk and to fill in occasionally for other employees.
Our hotel is very unique as we service many different types of needs on our property. We do have long term residents who have decided to make Providence Place their home. Keeping in confidence what happens here and maintaining a positive family environment is key to making Providence Place Inn a place where ALL people feel like they fit in.
The FRONT DESK is the heart of the building. It is from this position everything flows. You can go from being the face of the company to a prospective customer to a friend or a listening ear to one of our residents to serving the community and/or building rapport with out-of-towners. Hospitality goes above and beyond customer service.
It is a responsible job, and individual must be able to do these following duties.
Duties of a Front Desk Associate
1. He/she must be able to build good rapport with the customers and greet the customers when they enter the Lobby; building a strong relationship with the customers.
2. Handle customer requests promptly and cheerfully. Register arriving guests and assign rooms and check out guests.
3. Keep a record on people who have come to the desk by computer. Maintain records of their queries /feedback.
4. Delegate tasks to other departments (Housekeeping/maintenance)
5. Handling cash and also maintaining account records. Filing electronically as well as manually (filing paperwork).
6. Receiving calls from and making calls to our customers in a timely fashion
7. Making reservations from our online accounts (booking.com/Expedia/Email)
8. Maintaining the cleanliness of the lobby and ensuring the most positive environment for our customers (light chores).
9. Troubleshoot/problem solve/use sound judgement to ensure that the hotel guest needs are cared for and provided for.
10. Delegate tasks to other departments on occasion.
11. Maintaining policy and procedure
This position is NOT seasonal. We are looking for someone who will be able to maintain this position after the season ends although hours will go down in September/October.

Qualifications & Experience:
We are looking for someone who:
1. has a passion to excel in their workplace.
2. likes serving others and is enthusiastic with good interpersonal skills and good communication skills.
3. MUST HAVE computer knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and also must be able to learn computer programs well.
4. Is reliable. It is imperative that the person right for this job show up on time and be present for this job.
5. Is good at working with numbers (basic math) as there may be times when a rate may need to be changed.
6. Mature and professional
7. Works well under pressure.
8. Flexible
