POSITION TITLE: Head Chef/Support Staff Manager
POSITION TYPE: P/T; Vegetarian/Vegan/Raw
STARTING PAY: $20 per hour. Over 5 yrs. will grow to $25.
STARTING DATE: Aug 4
TRAINING: 10-12 hrs. during the upcoming program: June 23 - July 14
HOURS: You work approx. 3.5 weeks F/T (7-8 hrs. 5 days per week), alternating with 2.5 weeks off. Shift hours: 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., though may slightly vary, depending on a group size and managerial duties.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare healthy vegetarian meals (breakfast and lunch) and drinks
Present healthy meal preparation demos and educate guests on healthy meal planning, when needed. Your health and nutrition principles need to be aligned with the company values and culture (read on our company job board).
Manage small kitchen and housekeeping team (currently 1 Assistant Chef and 2 Director Assistants, may increase by several people overtime).
Program and food supplies ordering/planning/management; ensure that custom herbal formulas preparation is done before the program.
About Fresh Start: We are a health retreat focusing on physical health restoration, emotional wellness and unhealthy habits repatterning.
Our guests come with various health condition and digestive challenges. Our meals are specifically design to meet those needs and to assist with weight loss and cellular re-nourishment.
They are vegan and mostly raw, by exception of a few hot dishes and evening soups.
Qualifications & Experience:
CERTIFICATION/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Red Seal or Equivalent Chef Certification and Current BC Food Safe
Leadership and Management Skills
Food Demo or other Classes Presentation Skills
Knowledge/ Interest in learning of raw, vegan and vegetarian food preparation
Interest in healthy lifestyle and natural health
First Aid Level I - if not available, must acquire within 6 months and maintain at own cost
