Details:
The farm is located in Treadwell Bay, on the mainland of the south central coast of British Columbia, in the traditional territory of the Gwa’sala-’Nakwaxda’xw Nation. The farm is licensed as a deep-water tenure, growing both Pacific scallops and oysters.
Work will be camp based and generally on a 10 day on, 10 day off schedule. The applicant must be in reasonably good physical condition as there is a lot of heavy lifting of both the shellfish and the equipment on-site. Work is mostly on the water and so applicants must be comfortable on floats and boats.
Each successful applicant will be highly motivated and able to work on their own for extended periods of time. The shellfish worker is a critical member of a small 2-4 person crew. The work is seasonal with potential for winter hours.

Qualifications & Experience:
Requirements:
-Level 1 First Aid and Transport Endorsement
-Be in good physical condition and capable of working outdoors for 10 hrs/day in
all weather conditions;
-Be highly motivated and able to work as a team member;
-Must be able to work in camp for 10-day shifts
Assets:
-Driver’s license;
-Boat operations/experience, Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP), Marine;
-Emergency Duties/Domestic Vessel Safety, Radio Operator (ROCM);
-Shellfish farming training and experience;
-Past camp experience and/or fish industry and/or supervisory experience;
-Good computer skills – Word, Excel, email
