Details:
Mowi Canada West is currently seeking an individual to join the team as a full-time, permanent Marine Maintenance Technician within our Saltwater Operations. Reporting to the Marine Maintenance Manager, the incumbent will plan and carry out inspections and maintenance of our vessels and the machinery and equipment on board.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and Implement a Preventative Maintenance Program to all our vessels. Including all machinery and equipment onboard.
• Perform inspections, maintenance and repairs of equipment and machinery on our vessels (Mechanical, electric/electronic and fluid systems).
• Engage and manage contractors as required. Provide oversight and scheduling.
• Ensure our ‘Predictive and Preventive Maintenance’ plan is carried out as intended by the Saltwater Maintenance Team.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints in order to effectively troubleshoot, maintain and repair equipment.
• Optimize equipment safety and efficiency by participating in continuous improvement projects and completing work orders according to PM schedules.
• Work on other projects as required.
• Be self-starting and able to deal with a wide range of people in all levels of the building/sub-contracting industry.
• Work with other trades and contractors in a flexible team environment to achieve greater safety, efficiencies and productivity.
• Assist the production team in the safe and efficient operation of the equipment.
• Work safely and ensure safety of staff and of outside contractors working on site as per Mowi Canada West policy and procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Requirements:
• Hold Certification as a Marine Mechanic, HD Mechanic or other related certification/ticket to the position.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Experience developing and implementing Preventative Maintenance Programs.
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical and piping schematics.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing work environment and handle multiple priorities.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail is imperative.
• Be committed and self-motivated, with excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent working knowledge of current TC regulations.
• SVOP and boat experience.
