The City of Campbell River is seeking a full-time, term Engineering Technologist I for a contract position until October of 2020. As part of the Development Services team, reporting to the Development Engineering Supervisor, you will perform a wide variety of technical tasks in all aspects of municipal operations systems including: general department inquiries and correspondence; responding to BC One Calls; issuing Permits to Work on City Lands and record drawing maintenance; drafting documents; engineering drawing reviews; various inspections; and other miscellaneous assignments.
The hourly rate of pay for this CUPE bargaining unit position is $32.50 working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications & Experience:
To complement your 2 year Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or relevant field, you will also have:
Introductory training in mapping and/or GIS applications.
Minimum one year related experience in simple design, layout, and as-built recording of civil municipal projects within the past five years, or an equivalent combination of experience and training/education.
