Do you have a passion for working with First Nations communities and want to see bridges of reconciliation and right relations built between these communities and the Church?
St. Columba's currently has an opportunity for a part-time Indigenous Ministries Liaison. The successful candidate will provide leadership in helping the church move towards right relationship and engagement with local First Nations individual and communities by leading weekly community-based programs, i.e., community meals, healing circles, discussion groups, etc.
Position Summary:
- To increase St. Columba's impact and visibility in the town of Port Hardy and surrounding area First Nations communities (the Gwa'sala-Nakwaxda'xw, Quatsino, and Kwagu'l)
- Liaise with local Elders, Chiefs, Church and Community leaders.
- Assist local families through the churches community food cupboard.

Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to engage with and build trusting relationships in a First Nations context.
- Food safe training (St. Columba's will provide training if needed.)
- Safe Church and CPR (St. Columba's will provide training if needed.)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
