DISPATCHERS PERFORM THE FOLLOWING DUTIES:
• Answer all calls and requests for dispatch new job requests
• Scheduling TCP’s to work
• Making daily changes to scheduler,
• Daily dispatching through text/phoning or email
• Setting to work flaggers, trucks, and sites, - coordinated
• Changing the scheduler from open shifts, filled shifts, and confirmed.
• Operate computerized telephone, cellular phone, mapping Geotab systems
• Monitor and dispatch multiple job requests in multiply sectors in BC
• Redispatch if necessary and all workers and site foremen
• Attend special and periodical training programs on a continuing basis
• Maintain a thorough working knowledge of flaggers, sites, site foreman, trucks in all sectors in BC
WORK ALONE SECURITY CHECK IN’S
• Answer phone calls/text from security personal working alone on job sites across Canada either on the half hour, hour, 2 hour or check in/out on their shift
• Data entry proper/correct information on to a document and record time of call/text
• Must be detail orientated
• Follow the check in actions according to man down
• Call Supervisors according to protocol
• If man down procedure is put into action, call operator (0) asked to be dispatched through to the 911 operator in the province the Security work alone person is working
Qualifications & Experience:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
• Knowledge of computer operations sufficient to enter, retrieve and manipulate data
• Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions
• Net Keyboard/typing speed of 40 wpm or better (Gross minus errors = Net)
• Effectively prioritize situations and make decisions based on the information received
• Ability to hear and understand multiple sound sources
• Able to handle multiple tasks to receive and communicate information to and from several sources ensuring calls for service are dispatched and monitored in a timely manner
• Work under stressful conditions and react appropriately using good judgment
• Availability to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays
• Willingness to maintain respectful working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public
• Possess a clear and understandable radio and telephone voice
