Responsibilities:
• Perform aircraft inspections and troubleshooting, including airframe structures, engines and aircraft systems and carry out corrective actions
Sealand Aviation is an established and innovative aircraft maintenance, modification and repair business located in the city of Campbell River, B.C. We have a base at the Campbell River Airport for wheel equipped aircraft, and at Tyee Spit to service float planes. We are looking for experienced structures technicians, and mechanics.
• Interpret technical manuals, drawings and blueprints
• Test aircraft systems,
• Record problems and actions taken to rectify them and maintain an accurate statement of the maintenance history of the aircraft.
• Be familiar with aircraft parts and hardware and material, and the identification and control of parts.
• Be informed and educated in the practice, knowledge discipline and execution of the profession.
Qualifications & Experience:
Accreditation:
• An AME M, S or E Licence or
• A Diploma from a Transport Canada accredited Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Program that provides the training required for eligibility to write the Transport Canada exams for an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence.
• Aircraft Maintenance Human Factors Training.
Abilities
• The ability to work and stand for extended periods on hard surfaces.
• The ability to communicate efficiently, and to record and interpret technical information.
• Moderate computer skills sufficient to work with internet and computer based manuals.
• Good manual dexterity and familiarity with tools and measuring devices.
• Good problem solving capabilities.
• The ability to work as a team member, calmly and efficiently under pressure.
Additional Desirable Skills and Assets:
• Pratt & Whitney PT6 experience.
• Experience on Cessna, deHavilland and Quest aircraft
• Aircraft welding.
• Valid Driver’s Licence.
• Pilot’s licence
• A passion for aviation!
