Start Date: September 3, 2019
Permanent Part-Time: 6 hours per week; 3 hours on Tuesdays & 3 hours on Wednesdays starting approx. 2:45-3:00pm.
Community Access Services is designed to cater to the leisure and recreational needs of children and youth, twelve to eighteen years of age. Activities are selected to help teach life skills and social competency in a relaxed and enjoyable setting after school, three hours a week.
The Activity Worker works as part of a team and plans, organizes, implements, and leads community-based recreational and social activities to meet the needs of the children and youth in the program.

Qualifications & Experience: 
•Current First Aid and CPR
•Negative TB test results
•Food Safe Level 1
•Driver’s Abstract
•Criminal Record Check through the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General
•Physician’s Approval
•Class 5 Driver’s License
•Employee is required to use his/her automobile in the performance of his/her duties, and must have a vehicle in good condition with business insurance.

QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
•Child and Youth Care and/or Human Service Worker certification, or equivalent, is an asset.
•Previous experience, paid or volunteer, working with children between the ages of twelve to nineteen years of age with mental and physical disabilities, autism and/or behavioral challenges is preferred.
•Must be able to work independently and have an awareness of leisure and recreational opportunities in the community.
