E. Oakley & Company Ltd. is looking for a Bookkeeper/Payroll Clerk who can join our team and provide superior customer service to our clients. This position is 4 days per week increasing to 5 days during tax season. We are looking for a team-oriented professional individual who has a positive attitude, detail-oriented and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. As you will be the first contact to our clients, you must be friendly, outgoing and personable while conducting yourself in a professional manner.
Responsibilities:
Complete basic bookkeeping for various clients in many different industries, prepare payroll, including source deductions remittances and have a good knowledge of the labour standards act, prepare PST and GST returns. Create, updates and maintain both paper and electronic client files. General clerical duties including: scanning, photocopying, faxing, preparing bank deposits, answering and directing incoming calls, schedule appointments.
Qualifications & Experience:
You must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure in order to meet monthly, quarterly and yearly deadlines. You are proficient with Microsoft – Word and Excel, able to maintain client confidentiality and maintain the integrity of the firm. You are a team player and work well in a team setting as well as independently. A willingness to learn and research as required. Proficient in Sage Accounting, QuickBooks and Cantax software an asset.
