Are you the type of person who likes to plan ahead and be prepared? Do you have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills? If so, the Sandtrap Restaurant & Lounge is currently looking for a Prep Cook to join our team year-round!
The Prep Cook is responsible for ensuring the proper amount of food is prepared to meet the daily demands of the restaurant. A Prep Cook must also label, stock, and organize all prepared food effectively for easy identification and access.
Qualifications & Experience:
Responsibilities
• Daily preparation of food items such as washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, weighing and mixing ingredients.
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner
• Restocks all items as needed throughout shift
• Cleans and maintains station in practicing good safety, sanitation, organizational skills
• Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen and all storage areas.
• Ensure quality and safety of food by performing sanitary measures including sweeping floors, washing surfaces, proper coverage and storage of food items
• Ensure that the correct quantities are prepared to meet daily needs
• Prepare for future needs as time allows
• Perform other related duties as required
Requirements
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced kitchen
• Current Food Safe certification
• Previous prep cooking experience
• Must be able to stand for long periods at a time
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
• Early morning, day, evening, and night shifts may be required
