Pentair currently has an opening for a Sales Manager to join our our Aquatic Eco-Systems team out of our new office in Campbell River (on Vancouver Island, BC). In this role, the Sales Manager will provide professional service, advice, consultancy and support to Pentair’s Aquaculture customers (both existing & new). This role will play a key part in the growth of Pentair’s Canadian operations, and can be based anywhere in the Greater Vancouver area!

You will:
• Be a true customer representative, bringing the voice of the customer to Pentair.
• Help Pentair understand how we are of the most value to our customer base.
• Build long term win-win relationships with our customers.
• Provide our customers with equipment and advice that meets their needs.
• Work closely with our Technical Support team(s) in Canada and the USA.
• Evaluate equipment/system performance and assist customers in reaching their objectives.
• Provide broad technical expertise and support.
• Train our customers on a variety of products.
• Travel regularly throughout Vancouver Island and BC, as well as periodic travel to the US Northwest (e.g. Alaska, Washington, etc.); additional international travel may also be required.
• Work closely with other team members within Pentair to demonstrate Pentair’s goals & values as a positive, value-added member of our team.
• Be asked to take on additional responsibilities, as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:
You should:
• Have earned at least a Bachelor's Degree.
• Have 2 years of professional experience in sales and/or marketing.
• Have excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
We like, but don’t require:
• Extensive academic coursework in Aquaculture, Fishery Management, or related scientific field of study (e.g. Marine Biology, Aquatic Sciences, Limnology, Chemistry, etc.)
• Previous experience working in Aquafarming, Fish Hatchery, and/or Seafood Farming environments; experience working with cold-water fish, especially Atlantic Salmon, is a plus.
• Understanding of technology related to multiple forms of aquaculture (e.g. Aquaponics, Mariculture, Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture [IMTA], etc.).
• Understanding of the design and development of aquaculture systems (e.g. pipe sizing, layout, construction, etc.).
• Understanding of Recirculating Aquaculture Systems [RAS], including the following:
o solids removal (i.e. drum filters, bead filters, etc.);
o biological filtration (i.e. mixed bed, fluidized-bed reactor, etc.);
o fine and dissolved solids removal;
o aeration and oxygenation (i.e. PPC’s, LHO’s, cones, diffusers, etc.);
o dissolved gas removal;
o disinfection processes (i.e. UV & Ozone).
• Experience working with water quality management systems; understanding of related automated controls (i.e. hand-held meters, PLC’s, and SCADA) is a plus.
• Understanding of general mechanics with experience troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• Demonstrated ability to use relevant software programs (e.g. MS Office, Salesforce CRM, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to effectively respond to questions from clients, co-workers, and leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to display a positive, proactive, and self-motivated team player attitude.
