Details:
Rehabilitation Specialist - Temporary Full-time (approx 6 months) - The Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for organizing and leading water therapy and aquatic and dryland rehabilitation sessions with clients referred from ICBC, WCB, physicians and physiotherapists in one on one and group situations. The Rehabilitation Specialist is also responsible for teaching adaptive fitness programs, personal weight training sessions, wellness workshops and courses and completing fitness testing. Testing will be conducted as part of the recruitment process. The rate of pay for this position is in accordance with the United Steel Workers, Local 1-1937 collective agreement. The successful candidates will be required to undergo and pass a criminal record check.
Qualifications & Experience:
Kinesiology, Physiotherapy or rehabilitation related degree or equivalent.
Considerable related experience in aquatic and dryland rehabilitation therapy.
Experience writing reports in a clinical setting.
LICENCES/CERTIFICATES
Required Qualifications
o Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology Certificate (CSEP - CEP) or equivalent
o BCRPA Aquatic Fitness certificate or equivalent
o Standard First Aid
o CPR C and AED certification (current with in the year)
Desirable Qualifications
o Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology Certificate (CSEP - CPT) or equivalent
o BCRPA or a recognized Personal Trainer Certificate is desirable
o Bronze Cross and National Lifeguard Award
o International Council for Aquatic Therapy and Rehabilitation Certificate (ATRI) o BCRPA or a recognized Adaptive Aquatic Fitness Certificate
