Details:
The successful candidate will:
Monitor the activities of guests and be available for personal, practical and moral support
Accurately record day-to-day happenings/incidents using established methods
Assisting guests to access clean/dry clothing and laundry services
Coordinate guest care as it relates to security issues
Carry out inspections
Prepare and serve meals/snacks/beverages
Perform janitorial duties of the facility as required
Perform other duties as assigned.

Please Note: Due to the nature of a low-barrier shelter, applications should be aware that they will be working with intoxicated individuals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent, valid WHMIS, Food Safe 1, First Aid Certificate, and Non-violent Crisis Intervention Certification.
Qualifications & Experience:
Shelter Worker - Sobering & Assessment Program and Extremem Weather Shelter
Casual/On-Call (hours from 5:30 pm to 7:30 am only ; Monday –Sunday ) - starting immediately. Successful candidate needs to be readily available at all times to be accessed via cell phone, have a reliable means of transport to be on work premises on short notice, and must be available on an on call basis for all weekend shifts (Fri,Sat,Sun), all evening shifts (5:30pm-12:30am), and all graveyard shifts (12:30am-7:30am).
