Senior Advisor, First Nations Relations
Salary: $66,200.03 to $75,658.71 annually (as of April 2, 2017)
This position qualifies for Isolation Allowance of $38.87 bi-weekly
The Senior Advisor provides leadership and coordination to a District First Nations Relations program. The position provides First Nations Relations support, advice and training to Provincial decision-makers, internal FLNRO and other government staff, proponents and First Nations as an integral part of natural resource development. The Senior Advisor, First Nations Relations also negotiates and implements agreements with First Nations, oftentimes in collaboration with other government agencies. Strong communication skills and cultural agility are vital to the position.

Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications for this role include:
• Degree or Diploma in Natural Resource/Environmental Management, Arts, Social Sciences, or Law. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
• Experience in participating in consultations/negotiations with First Nations.
• Experience conducting research and analysis related to land use, resource management, social or economic development issues.
• Experience in policy development and implementation.
Preference may be given to applicants with experience that includes:
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience, gained within last 5 years
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in leading a program
Familiarity with natural resource authorizations
