Reporting to the Executive Director or designate, the Mental Health Nurse provides clinical assessment, case management, and interventions, as well as health promotion and prevention services to the First Nation Communities in Health Transfer with ITHA. The Mental Health Nurse supports clients experiencing problems related to mental health and addictions issues. This position will have the ability to perform a crisis and assessment role as well as work closely with the Drug and Alcohol support team and Community Health Nurses as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
A minimum of five (5) years experience as a nurse in a Mental Health environment and experience work with people at the community level.
• Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Nursing or Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Psychiatric Nursing
• Registered or eligible to be registered with College of Registered Nurses Association of BC Valid drivers license or the ability to travel both within the Region and Provincially
