Details:
Knowledge of Kwakiutl community, culture and language an asset. • Preference may be given to candidates with certification in Child & Youth Care or a related certification deemed acceptable by KBC.
KBC will also recognize a combination of relevant education, training and experience.
Preference may be given to qualified applicants who are of Aboriginal ancestry and applicants with one or more years of direct child and youth worker experience.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Must have strong computer skills (i.e., knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Word, Internet research, and Email).
• Willingness to successfully undergo criminal records check (see below).
• Must role model behavior that encourages children, youth, and members of the community to live a healthy and responsible lifestyle.
• Must have and maintain a valid BC Class 5 license as a condition of employment & preferably have access to a reliable vehicle.
Preference may be given to candidates who possess a valid Class 4 license.
The successful applicant must also be willing and able to obtain a Class 4 licence.
