Landscaping Responsibilities
•Care for established lawns and plants which includes mowing, trimming, pruning, fertilizing, planting, weeding, mulching, planters, and baskets
•Experience maintaining irrigation systems, ponds, and fountains is a must have as each property has different systems installed
•Adjust and add to the current lighting systems as needed to ensure each property is adequately lit
•Knowledge of perennials, shrubs, and trees, specifically their identifications and cultural requirements
•Removal of leaves, clippings, and debris
Requirements
•3-5 years of residential property maintenance and/or landscaping experience
•Ability to establish priorities, work independently, problem solve and proceed with objectives without supervision while following safe work procedures
•Demonstrated ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain buildings and grounds
•Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle
•Must be able to work remotely for approximately 1-2 weeks at a time (accommodation included)
Maintenance Responsibilities
•Perform repairs on windows, doors, appliances, equipment, fixtures and carpet as required.
•Maintain building exterior including basic grounds maintenance as required and ensures pathways and parking lot are cleared of snow, ice, and debris
•Detect faulty operations, defective materials, and report deficiencies to supervisor.
•Diagnose and repair basic plumbing, heating and electrical problems.
Other Responsibilities
•Maintain a high level of client satisfaction through excellent customer service and communication
•Run errands, assist with pickups, and drop-offs as directed for the properties, resort, and office, potentially traveling down island to do so
•Loading and unloading boats
•Setup and take down of different holiday themed displays including lights and decorations
Qualifications & Experience:
The Landscape Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing general building and property maintenance on several properties in Campbell River, as well as assisting at a privately run resort during the open season as needed. The role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, utilizing a variety of company tools, vehicles, equipment, while adhering to strict company safety procedures. The Landscape Maintenance Technician must be able to work as an active part of the team proving general handyman skills and a willingness to tackle everyday mechanical and landscaping needs.
