The John Howard Society of North Island is seeking a skilled individual or couple who can provide full time or respite care in their home in the Comox Valley.
Becoming a family caregiver gives you an opportunity to make a difference in a youth’s life while working from home. Family caregivers are paid independent contractors. We provide you with 24-hour on-call support, ongoing training, and monthly respite.
Caregivers provide encouragement and supervision to youth placed in their homes. The emphasis is on building positive relationships and fostering a nurturing family environment while working as part of the youth’s community support team.

Qualifications & Experience:
Excellent communication skills, enjoy spending time with young people, understand youth related issues, able to provide structure and consistent parenting while remaining flexible, able to self-assess, have good self-care and coping skills, and available for meetings and training.
