Job Summary:
The Facilities Manager will manage the maintenance, upkeep, expansion and disposal of properties. This role will ensure that cleaning, maintenance and required repairs are completed to guarantee safe, accessible and secure facilities in a timely fashion. As well the Facilities Manager will manage the food and beverage needs of offices.

Responsibilities:
• Manage emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment, structures and grounds on the properties
• Ensure all facilities are up to code and compliant with any relevant legislation.
• Perform regular property inspections of buildings including building exteriors and landscape.
• Maintain system for the purchase of office equipment and supplies
• Manages the purchase, lease or rental of photocopiers, printers, telephone systems
• Ensure effective management of loss prevention, risk management, security, maintenance, marketing, landscaping, snow removal, ventilation, heating, cooling and other daily activities.
• Prepare and manage budgets.
• Keep accurate records of space conditions including roof, HVAC and utilities.
• Plan and manage replacement of major capital expense items such as HVAC system, roof systems and parking lot surfaces.
• Request for quotations, make contracts, supervise work and approve invoices for all services required to maintain the properties.
• Arrange and oversee all maintenance contractors working at the properties.
• Arrange and manage custodial services of all facilities.
• Maintain and/or has working knowledge of environmental safeguards and alarm systems.
• Maintain outside grounds (removes snow, ice, and debris, sprays and removes weeds, sweeps and cleans gutters, waters and maintains sprinkling system) through use of contractors.
• Monitor emergency generator, function and orders refueling.
Qualifications & Experience: 
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Property or Facilities Management or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in property or facilities management
• Understanding of building equipment and systems i.e. HVAC
• Experience with providing food and beverage services i.e. cafeteria
• Sound leadership, staff management and teambuilding skills
• Strong evidence of time management skills
• Able to quickly analyze issues and determine best course of action using available resources
• High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to prioritize
• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
